The standard powertrain is a 237 horsepower turbo-four paired with an eight-speed automatic. There is another inline-four turbocharged that comes as an optional powertrain. The engine makes 310 or 325 horsepower and is featured with a 10-speed automatic. The new trim, CT4-V Blackwing, comes standard with a twin-turbo V-6 that gives 472 horsepower. A six-speed manual is standard. However, the all-wheel drive is optional in the latter.

With the CT-V trim, you'll get excellent performance on rough terrains, which is rare to find in a sedan. The trim mentioned is provided with traction control, upgraded brakes, and a performance suspension tuned to do much of the work, thus contributing to a smooth ride. Stick with the base engine if you want to save on fuel, given that it registers 34 mpg on the highway and 23 mpg in the city.
